Constructed Awareness Institute
Creating change through deeper awareness
Constructed Awareness® (CA) is a psychotherapy model that invites individuals to explore how they experience themselves and the world around them through greater awareness of their thoughts, bodily sensations, and external environment. By noticing how these aspects of experience interact, clients and therapists can develop a deeper understanding of their patterns and discover new possibilities for change. The Constructed Awareness Institute is dedicated to supporting both the personal and professional growth of clinicians through training, research, consultation, and ongoing opportunities for learning and connection.

Meet the Founder of Constructed Awareness®
Tyler Orr, PhD, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC/MHSP), EMDRIA-approved consultant, creator of Constructed Awareness® (CA), and President of the Constructed Awareness Institute. He offers an interactive, here-and-now approach to counseling, consulting, and teaching that integrates mindfulness, nonviolence, nonduality, and process-oriented approaches. His work centers on trauma therapy and the use of awareness to support organic change.
Tyler earned his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands, and his peer-reviewed publications include both research studies and conceptual articles introducing key elements of the CA model. He regularly presents on CA at national counseling conferences. His therapeutic work emphasizes non-interference and the power of awareness to support natural healing processes.
Join us for the CA Lunch & Learn, a free community gathering where we explore concepts and applications of CA in a relaxed, conversational format. These sessions are open to any therapist interested in learning more about CA, whether you are currently using the model, learning it, or simply curious about how CA principles can inform clinical practice. This free event includes one free CE hour with NBCC and one free CE credit with ASWB.
